Savannah Coyle captured the CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 20-26.

Coyle appeared in all four games for No. 6 CSUSM in its series victory over Cal State East Bay. The sophomore left-hander went 14 innings, earning a win and a save. She allowed four runs and seven hits over her time in the circle while striking out four.Â

In Saturday's doubleheader, Coyle went seven innings to pick up the win in the opener after allowing just one run on five hits. In the series finale, Coyle was called out of the bullpen with the bases loaded and two outs. She forced a ground out with the first batter she faced to earn her first save of the season.Â

Coyle now ranks third in the CCAA with a 1.05 earned run average. Opponents are hitting just .203 off her (seventh CCAA), and she is tied for fifth in wins (five).Â

This marks Coyle's third career CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor as she collected the weekly award twice last season.

The three wins over Cal State East Bay has the Cougars at 7-1 in the conference and 10-3 overall. They will host Chico State (7-5, 2-2 CCAA) in a four-game series starting on Friday, March 3.
