HOW IT HAPPENED
- Monterey Bay struck first in the first inning when Nevaeh Martinez homered to center for a 2–0 lead.
- CSUSM answered in the second after Czar Fleischman, Madilyn Novello and Lauren Deplitch opened the inning with consecutive singles, setting up Rae D'Amato's sacrifice fly to left.
- The Cougars surged ahead in the fourth. After Deplitch reached on a bunt single, Marissa Morales singled home the tying run before Jillian Albayati singled to right. Zoe Karam followed with a three‑run homer to left center to put CSUSM up 5–2.
- Angelina Rodriguez added a solo homer in the sixth.
- Monterey Bay rallied in the sixth with back‑to‑back home runs by Martinez and Nani Arreola, followed by an RBI single from Abreanna Alba to make it 6–5.
- CSUSM responded with a four‑run seventh. Rae D'Amato singled, Hannah Tandy advanced her with a sacrifice bunt, and Morales reached on catcher's interference. Albayati then launched a three‑run homer to left. Karam doubled and Rodriguez drove her in with a double to left center for a 10–5 lead.
- The Otters added one final run in the seventh on an RBI groundout by Martinez.

- CSUSM starter Madison Cabrera (5-0) earned the win after throwing 5.1 innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM opened the scoring in the first inning when Jillian Albayati homered to right center.
- Monterey Bay tied the game in the second on a solo homer by Martinez.
- The Cougars regained the lead in the third after Jordan Elias singled, and Morales followed with a single up the middle. Albayati lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Elias, and Zoe Karam singled to shortstop before Olivia Rivera delivered a sacrifice fly to right to make it 3–1.
- Monterey Bay pulled within 4–2 in the fifth when Ellie Escalante doubled and Alba singled up the middle to drive her in.
- CSUSM added an insurance run in the sixth when Novello singled, Kaila Siu doubled to left center and Hannah Tandy executed a sacrifice bunt to score Novello.
- The Otters scored once more in the sixth on an RBI groundout by Faith Soriano following a single by Aniya Lawson and a throwing error, but Daleah Cardenas retired the final four batters to secure the sweep.
