Jimenez Announces 2022-23 Women's Basketball Schedule

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team will look to defend its CCAA Regular-Season Title and make its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament as head coach Renee Jimenez announced the Cougars' 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday.

"We have a very competitive group of young women who have been working extremely hard," said Jimenez. "They are excited to be back in action and can't wait to compete in front of their fans."

The Cougars 27-game schedule includes 12 home games, one road exhibition, five games against non-conference opponents and 22 CCAA contests.
 
For the second consecutive season, the Cougars will open the season against Point Loma but this time will be at home on Nov. 15 in The Sports Center.
 
The Cougars will head to Bellingham, Washington, to compete in the 2022 West Region Crossover Classic and will face Azusa Pacific on Nov. 18 before taking on host Western Washington on Nov. 19.
 
In their final tune-up before conference play begins, the Cougars will take on Westminster on the campus of Azusa Pacific on Nov. 25. This will be the first time the two teams will have met in program history.
 
CSUSM will open CCAA play on the road on Dec. 1 when the Cougars travel up to Stanislaus State before stopping for a match-up against Chico State on Dec. 3.  
 
The Cougars will host San Francisco State on Dec. 8 and Cal State Monterey Bay on Dec. 10 in their conference home-opening weekend.
 
Prior to the winter break, the Cougars will travel to Cal State LA on Dec. 19 before hosting the Golden Eagles on New Year's Day.
 
The Cougars will hit the road for four consecutive games with their first stops being local ones at Cal State San Bernardino (Jan. 5) and Cal Poly Pomona (Jan. 7). CSUSM will then venture up to Northern California to take on Sonoma State (Jan. 12) and Cal Poly Humboldt (Jan. 14).
 
CSUSM will finish the month of January with a four-game homestand against Cal State East Bay (Jan. 19), Cal State Dominguez Hills (Jan. 21), Cal Poly Pomona (Jan. 26) and Cal State San Bernardino (Jan. 28).
 
The Cougars will begin February on the road at Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 2 and at San Francisco State on Feb. 4.
 
CSUSM will make its return to The Sports Center to host Chico State (Feb. 9) and Stanislaus State (Feb. 11) before taking part in its final regular-season road series – and most difficult – traveling to Cal State Dominguez Hills (Feb. 16) and Cal State East Bay (Feb. 18)
 
The Cougars will host Cal Poly Humboldt on Feb. 23 before capping off the regular season with Sonoma State on Feb. 25.
 
Should the Cougars end the regular season as one of the top six teams in the conference, they will travel to Stanislaus State for the 2023 CCAA Tournament on March 2-4 in Turlock at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena..

2021-22 season ticket holders have until Oct. 23 to renew their seats for the upcoming season. From Oct. 24-Nov. 11, new season tickets will go on sale to the general public before single-game tickets go on sale Nov. 14. For purchases and any questions, contact Maggie Juan (mjuan@csusm.edu).
