TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team (6-5, 3-3 CCAA) earned a 71-54 victory over Stanislaus State (1-8, 0-6 CCAA) on Sunday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM struck first on a Kaity Haan layup at 9:34 for a 2-0 lead.
- The Cougars led 13-11 after the opening quarter.
- Early in the second, Haan's back-to-back layups gave CSUSM a double-digit lead (23-13).
- Maddie Leiva knocked down consecutive threes to make it 33-22 with just over two minutes remaining in the second quarter.
- CSUSM took a 39-24 lead into halftime after shooting 44.4% (12-of-27) from the field compared to Stanislaus State's 32.3% (10-of-31).
