SAN DIEGO – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team saw four top-10 program marks to close out a two-meet weekend at the Aztec Invitational and the PLNU Collegiate Invitational.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES AT AZTEC INVITATIONAL

• Luz Mercado tallied the ninth-fastest 1500-meter time in program history at 4:37.29 while sister Ana Mercado just missed out on the top 10 at 4:37.84 – .01 from the 10th-best time.
• Morgann Wilson posted the fourth-best heptathlon total in program history at 3,862 points. She finished the 100-meter hurdles with the 10th-fastest time in school history at 15.41 meters.
• In the javelin invite, Wilson improved upon her PR with a throw of 33.65 meters – the eighth-best mark in program history and .16 better than her old mark.

 
TOP PERFORMANCES AT PLNU COLLEGIATE INVITE

• Bianca Encio placed second in the shot put at 11.40 meters.
• Grace Handler finished second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:15.66.
• Emma Mills took fourth out of 51 runners in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:45.72. She also finished fourth in the 800 at 2:19.54.

The Cougars will return to action in two weeks at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational on April 8-9 in La Jolla.
