SAN MARCOS, Calif. – After sweeping then-No. 11 Chico State on the road last weekend, the Cal State San Marcos softball team catapulted up the national rankings on Tuesday as the Cougars clocked in at No. 14 in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll.

CSUSM moved to 27-3 overall and took sole possession of first place in the CCAA standings with an 18-2 conference record. The Cougars have the fifth-best win percentage (.900) in all of Division II among teams that have played 20 or more games this season.

The Cougars have already broken numerous program records since moving to NCAA Division II including most wins (27), most conference wins (18), most conference series sweeps (3) and most conference series wins (5).

The No. 14 Cougars will host San Francisco State in a four-game series this weekend with Friday's doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. and Saturday's at 11 a.m.
