STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Cal State San Marcos women's indoor track & field team saw one school record fall and multiple top-10 program marks at the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES

• Amaya Mahmoud ended the day by earning the school record in the triple jump with a winning mark of 11.40 meters - .01 better than the previous record set by Andrea Talhami in 2011.
• Finishing fourth out of 20 competitors in the long jump, Mahmoud's first attempt of 4.84 meters was the 10th-best mark in school history.
• Kayla James began the day by qualifying for a spot in the 60-meter invite final with a time of 7.99 – the sixth-fastest time in program history. In the final, James ran 7.99 for a second time and finished seventh overall.
• James later posted the sixth-fastest 200-meter time in team history at 26.45 and finished 11th out of 48 sprinters.
• In the 3,000-meter run, Maria Texis clocked the ninth-fastest time in team history at 10:45.42.
• Renee Laurenzana had the fourth-fastest one-mile run time in program history at 5:11.72. Teammate Emma Mills posted the fifth-fastest time at 5:13.18.
• With a time of 1:01.71 in the 400-meter dash, Mia Salinas recorded the fifth-fastest time in team history.
• The 800-meter run saw Ana Mercado finish fourth out of 38 runners with a time of 2:16.93 while teammate Clarissa Garcia took seventh at 2:19.30.
• The DMR team of Luz Mercado, Ana Mercado, Clarissa Garcia and Renee Laurenzana ended the day by winning the event with a time of 12:09.33 – 21.83 seconds ahead of second-place Stony Brook.
