COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team took 14th place with a score of 369 at the NCAA Division II West Regional on Saturday morning in Billings, Montana.
Carly Schuerger was CSUSM's top finisher at 35th place out of 168 runners with a time of 22:06.7.
FINISH LINE
- Schuerger moved up 34 spots from her 2021 West Regional's 60th-place finish.
- Emma Mills and Grace Handler crossed the line close to each other, finishing in 72nd (22:46.6) and 75th place (22:49.8), respectively.
- Luz Mercado took 82nd place with a time of 22:58.2 while Jessica Schempp collected 109th place at 23:31.5.
- Running in their first West Regional, Angela McManus took 128th place (23:58.1) and Emily Mendoza snagged 136th place (24:17.1).

"Fighting hard in very tough conditions, both teams return many runners who gained some valuable racing experience. Carly and Nick had the best cross country races of their careers! I am very proud of the way they approached the race and ran tough."
