COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team collected its best Cougar Challenge finish since 2017 (matched in 2018 and 2019), taking second place with 90 points. The Cougars had two top-10 finishers with Angela McManus placing fourth and Hailie Lomeli taking ninth.

FINISH LINE

• Angela McManus was CSUSM's top finisher with a PR time of 21:20.1, topping her time by more than a minute (22:27.0).
• For the third consecutive race, Hailie Lomeli was the second Cougar to cross the line in a 6K time of 21:49.5.
• Maria Texis placed 22nd with a time of 22:20.8.
• Alayna McGarry and Emily Mendoza took 25th (22:26.5) and 30th (22:35.0) place, respectively.
• Kelsi Hart and Lauren Peacher rounded out the CSUSM scorers with 38th (22:50.6) and 45^th (23:00.7), respectively.

"The women took another important step forward. Angela (McManus) paced us again and our spreads behind her were the best they've been for 5 and 7, with Emily (Mendoza) and Alayna (McGarry) taking big steps forward, among others."

WHAT'S NEXT
CSUSM will take next weekend off before heading to Alabama for the UAH Chargers Invitational on Oct. 12.
