HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars got off to a slow start, falling behind 11-4 in the first four and half minutes.
- A 4-point play by Hackson gave CSUSM its first lead of the game at 3:23 of the first quarter.
- CSUSM trailed 17-16 at the end of the first quarter but opened the second with a Vasquez layup.
- Kayden Korst sunk a 3-pointer from the corner to put CSUSM up 25-24 with 4:35 remaining in the second quarter.
- The Cougars went on a 9-2 run to close out the second quarter and take a 31-26 lead into the break.
- CSUSM shot only 38.7% from the field in the first half while SSU turned in 52.6%.
- The Cougars forced 11 Seawolf turnovers in the opening 20 minutes while only committing four.
- Fast passing with Kelsey Forrester making a 3-pointer in front of the CSUSM bench gave the Cougars a 40-32 lead with 5:28 on the clock in the third quarter.
- CSUSM put the game out of reach with a 15-0 run in the third quarter to give the Cougars their largest lead of the game at 52-32.
- The Cougars outscored the Seawolves 24-10 in the third quarter to take a 55-36 advantage into the final 10 minutes.
- SSU answered with a 19-point fourth quarter while CSUSM only put up 14.
- The Cougars shot 48.3% (14-of-29) from the field while holding SSU to 33.3% (9-of-27) in the second half.
FAST BREAKS
- With her seven made free throws against SSU, Hackson is only five away from passing former teammate Jon'Nae Vermillion for the CSUSM career record.
- Hackson drew two offensive charges in the first half and another in the second half.
- The Seawolves outrebounded CSUSM, 36-29.
- CSUSM scored 18 points off fast breaks while holding SSU to none.
- The Cougars matched their season low of nine turnovers that they achieved against Seattle Pacific in their season opener.
- The Cougars took advantage of SSU's 19 turnovers by scoring 24 points.
- With the win, CSUSM is now 6-1 when playing at home against the Seawolves.

- With the victory, CSUSM moved into sole possession of second place in the CCAA standings with a 0.857 conference-win percentage. Cal State East Bay sits on top with a 5-0 record while Stanislaus State is in third with 5-1.
