SAN MARCOS, Calif. – With another perfect weekend at home, the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team made its first-ever appearance in the NABC Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll at No. 23 while moving up to No. 18 in the D2SIDA Top 25 National Media Poll on Tuesday afternoon.

CSUSM advanced to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in CCAA action this past weekend with victories over Cal State Dominguez Hills (79-41) and Cal State East Bay (84-82) at The Sports Center. The wins continued the Cougars' best start in the NCAA Division II era, and with three wins to begin conference action, the Cougars are also off to their best-ever start in CCAA play.

The Cougars' seven-game winning streak is currently tied for the eighth longest in Division II. With all those wins occurring at home, CSUSM set a team record for consecutive home wins as an NCAA member with its victory over the Pioneers on Saturday.

CSUSM is now one of 14 teams in Division II without a loss this season, including CCAA foe Chico State.

The No. 23/18 Cougars will hit the road for the first time this season by traveling to Cal State Monterey Bay for a 7:30 p.m. game on Thursday in Seaside.
