COURSE REPORT:  The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team placed sixth at the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday morning on the campus of Western 

Oregon. Renee Laurenzana led the Cougars with a 17th-place finish to earn her first All-West Region honor.
 
FINISH LINE

• Renee Laurenzana was CSUSM's first one across the finish line in a time of 22:00.1, taking 17th place out of 169 runners.
• Natalie Schroeder and Luz Mercado were the next two Cougars to cross the line, taking 43rd (22:40.2) and 44th place (22:40.6), respectively.
• Alyse Sibley was next for CSUSM, placing 52nd with a time of 22:48.2 with Clarissa Garcia on her heels with a time of 22:52.5 for 55th place.
• Carly Schuerger placed 69th with a time of 23:03.0 while Ana Mercado took 83rd place in a time of 23:22.8.
• CSUSM finished with 179 points for sixth place, just four points behind fifth-place Biola and one point ahead of seventh-place Western Washington.  

 
WHAT'S NEXT
It's now a waiting game for the Cougars. They will find out Monday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. to see if the Cougars or Laurenzana will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA National Championships held in Saint Leo, Florida on Nov. 20.
