COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team took third place at the CCAA Championships hosted on CSUSM's campus on Saturday morning.

Carly Schuerger finished in the top 15 to claim All-CCAA honors.
FINISH LINE
- Renee Laurenzana was CSUSM's first one across the finish line, taking fourth place out of 88 runners. Laurenzana improved on her time from the Cougar Challenge by almost 14 seconds to finish in 21:06.8.
- Natalie Schroeder also lowered her time from the Cougar Challenge by almost 14 seconds to claim 14th place with a time of 21:26.6.
- Competing in her first CCAA Championships, Carly Schuerger placed 15th with a time of 21:28.4, which was 39 seconds faster than her time in the Cougar Challenge.
- Clarissa Garcia narrowly missed out on earning all-conference honors with a 16th-place finish in a time of 21:29.9.
- Rounding out the CSUSM scorers was Alyse Sibley who placed 24th with a time of 21:57.5.
- Stanislaus State claimed its first CCAA Women's Cross Country Championship, ending Chico State's 12-year win streak.
- Stan State's Kaela Dishion was the individual medalist with a time of 20:41.7. She also won the Cougar Challenge earlier this season.
- CSUSM finished with 68 points behind Stan State (38) and Chico State (55).
WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars will be off for two weeks preparing for the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships in Monmouth, Oregon, on Nov. 6. The regionals will take place at the Ash Creek Preserve on the campus of Western Oregon.
