SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The hits kept coming for No. 3/2 UC San Diego as the Cal State Marcos baseball team took a 19-4 loss in the second game of its California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series against the Tritons on Saturday afternoon at CSUSM Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tritons jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning. After back-to-back walks to begin the game, Blake Baumgartner hit an RBI double up the middle. Ryan McNally then hit a one-out two-run double to the left center gap. With two outs, Nick Kitzmann wrapped up the scoring with a two-run homer to left center.
- After Brandon Stewart singled, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch, he scored on a CSUSM throwing error to give UCSD a 6-0 lead.
- A two-run homer by Anthony Lucchetti put the Tritons up 8-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
- Schuberg delivered a two-out RBI double down the right field line to score Luk Stuka from second in the bottom of the fourth inning and cut UCSD's lead to 8-1.
- UCSD began the fifth inning with a leadoff homer to right by Luke Glascoe before Baumgartner made it a 10-1 game by bringing home Shay Whitcomb on a sacrifice fly to center field.
- CSUSM cut the deficit to 10-3 in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run homer to right by Teisher – his second of the season.
- The Tritons plated four more runs in the top of the seventh on a two-RBI double by Everett Lau, an RBI single by Marc Filia and a bases-loaded walk by Glascoe to go up 14-3.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Garcia put an RBI single through the left side to score Emilio Luna and cut the deficit to 14-4.
- UCSD ended the game like it started with another five-run inning to go up 19-4. Brandon Stewart hit a two-RBI double to center before Devon Hawks hit a two-RBI single of his own to right. An RBI single through the right side by Jo Bynum rounded out the scoring.

QUICK HITS
- CSUSM drops to 4-16 (3-11 CCAA) while UCSD improves to 15-4 (10-4 CCAA).
- Triton starter Brandon Weed (4-0) earned the win as he struck out 10 in 7.0 innings of work while allowing four runs on six hits, three walks and one hit-by-pitch.
- Cougar starter Dylan Wannamaker (0-4) took the loss as he allowed eight runs on eight hits, three walks and two wild pitches in 4.0 innings while striking out two.
- Joseph Bahna's 17 game hitting streak came to an end, but his reached-base streak improved to 18 games as he got on base with a walk.
- UCSD's 19 runs and 22 hits were the most by a CSUSM opponent this season.
