LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team was swept in a doubleheader against No. 3/2 UC San Diego in the final day of the series on Sunday at Triton Ballpark.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- An RBI single to center in the top of the first inning by Andrew Garcia put CSUSM up 1-0.
- The Tritons took a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the first with three RBI singles, an RBI fielder's choice and a two-RBI double.
- A solo home run by Blake Baumgartner, a sacrifice fly by Ryan McNally and a two-run homer by Nick Kitzmann put UCSD up 11-1 in the bottom of the second.
- A three-run jack by Stuka in the top of the third inning cut the deficit to 11-4.
- Devon Hawks made it a 13-4 game with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the third.
- The Tritons plated five more runs in the bottom of the fourth on a pair of RBI singles, a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and a two-RBI single to go up 18-4.
- UCSD scored their final runs of the game in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double by Luke Glascoe and an RBI groundout by Marc Filia to lead 20-4.
- The Cougars' final two runs came on a solo homer by Andrew Garcia and a UCSD throwing error that scored Demetrius Freeman.

- CSUSM dropped to 4-17 (3-12 CCAA) while UCSD improved to 16-4 (11-4 CCAA).
- Triton starter Chris Gilmartin (2-0) earned the win as he struck out two in 5.0 innings while allowing four runs on three hits, five walks and one hit-by-pitch.
- Cougar starter Tommy Garcia took the loss after exiting game with 1.1 innings of work while allowing 11 runs on 10 hits and two walks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stuka put CSUSM on the board at 1-0 in the top of the first inning with a one-out RBI double down the right field line to score Bahna.
- UCSD went up 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning as Anthony Lucchetti hit an RBI single to short to score Everett Lau before Michael Fuhrman ripped a two-RBI double to center to score Lucchetti and Blake Baumgartner.
- CSUSM was unable to muster a hit in the final two innings and saw UCSD come away with the win to close the series.
