SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Playing in front of the largest crowd this season, the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team evened the season series with Stanislaus State after recording a 73-59 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) victory in The Sports Center on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A pair of free throws by Chloe Eackles closed the gap to 22-20 with 2:18 remaining in the second quarter.
- Forrester made a half-court buzzer beater to put CSUSM up 28-25 at the half.
- Hackson's first points of the night, a 3-pointer from the left side, put CSUSM up 37-31 with 5:38 remaining in the third quarter.
- CSUSM went on a 12-0 run capped by a Forrester 3-pointer, giving CSUSM a 40-31 lead at the 4:20 mark of the third quarter.
- The Cougars ended the third quarter shooting 60% (9-of-15) from the field and sinking 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
- Eight of Forel's 18 points came in the final quarter as she went 4-of-5 in the paint.

FAST BREAKS
- CSUSM remains in second place in the CCAA standings with a conference record of 11-4 (16-4 overall).
- Stan State falls into a two-way tie for fifth with Sonoma State at 9-6 (11-9 overall).
- With her 218th CSUSM career assist, Custodio became the program's career assist leader on a pass to Forrester, who sunk a 3-pointer in the second quarter. Custodio ended the game with 223 career assists.
- This is the second time this season Forrester has finished with 20 or more points, knocking down a career-best 23 at Cal Poly Pomona on Dec. 19.
- Forel notched her seventh double-double of the year – the sixth out of her last eight games.
- CSUSM led for 18:48, the majority of the second half, while the Warriors were on top for 19:25 and the majority of the first half.
- In the first meeting with the Warriors this season, the Cougars dropped a 62-55 heartbreaker in Turlock.
- Hackson scored all 14 of her points in the second half.
- Thursday's attendance was 527, the largest in The Sports Center this season.
