SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team tallied its third consecutive win with a 12-4 victory against California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opponent Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon at CSUSM Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A first-inning solo homer by Ott put the Cougars up early before an RBI single by Näshéa Diggs in the second gave CSUSM a 2-0 lead.
- The Golden Eagles broke up the shutout by scoring three runs on three RBI singles in the top of the fourth and took a 3-2 lead.
- A four-run inning thanks to a three-run double by Buck and an RBI single by Garcia put the Cougars back on top at 6-3.
- An RBI fielder's choice by CSULA's Nic Sandoval narrowed the gap to 6-4 in the top of the sixth.
- RBI singles by Ott and Garcia put CSUSM up 8-4 in the bottom of the seventh.
- The Cougars tacked on four more insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth with three RBI singles and a sacrifice fly by Ott.
- Stevens shut the door on the Golden Eagles by allowing just one walk and a hit-by-pitch to pick up the 3.2-inning save.
