SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos softball team dropped both games of its California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) doubleheader at Cal State Monterey Bay by scores of 4-2 and 3-2 on Sunday at the Otter Sports Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A double steal with Forstie taking second and Andelin coming home gave CSUSM a 1-0 lead in the opening frame.
- A Courtney Hennings RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Lusi Stanley gave CSUMB a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first.
- The Otters extended their lead to 3-1 on a two-out RBI single by Marissa Hukkanen.
- Another sacrifice fly by CSUMB made it 4-1 in the bottom of the third.
- In the top of the seventh, Wood crushed a solo home run over the left center wall to cut CSUSM's deficit to 4-2.

- The Cougars fall to 7-16 and 6-15 in CCAA play while the Otters improved to 16-12, 13-10 conference action.
- Ellie Smith took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits in three innings of action in the circle.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Otters took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Alyssa Burt.
- Scardina and Wood both scored on a CSUMB error in the top of the second to snag away the lead at 2-1.
- CSUMB evened the game at 2-2 on a Shaye Felix RBI single down the left field line in the bottom of the second.
- An RBI double by Michaela Decker put the Otters back on top in the fourth inning at 3-2.
