SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos Athletics will be all over Southern California this week as men's and women's golf, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball will all be in action.
On Monday and Tuesday, men's golf hosts the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational at Shadowridge Golf Club while women's golf competes in the Point Loma Sea Lion Invite in San Diego.
Men's and women's basketball travel to Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday before making their way over to Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday. The women will play at 5:30 p.m. both days while the men will take the court at 7:30 p.m.
Softball will play six games this week as the Cougars open the season with a four-game series against Cal State San Bernardino on Friday at CSUSM Softball Field. The Cougars and Coyotes will play a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday beginning at noon. Afterwards, CSUSM will head up to Biola to make up a postponed doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. in La Mirada.
Baseball will return to the CSUSM Baseball Field as it hosts Concordia Irvine in a three-game series beginning on Friday at 2 p.m. Both games on Saturday and Sunday are set for 1 p.m.

- The Cougars wrapped up their fall season with a 14th place finish at the Otter Invitational on Oct. 23.
- McBrayer was CSUSM's top finisher, placing 68th with a 17-over 233.

- The Cougars are the defending champs, winning the 2018 Fujikura Invite by one stroke (875, +11) over Chico State.
- Chris Tuulik was the tournament's runner-up with a 6-under 210, one stroke behind CSUMB's Elis Svard.
- Returning from last year's five, Justin Vrzich tied for 17th with a 6-over 222. Randy Vergel de Dio, who will be playing as an individual this year, tied for 23rd with a 11-over 227.

THIS SEASON
- The Cougars closed out their fall season with a 34-stroke win at the CSUSM Fall Classic with a 7-under 569 held at Woods Valley Golf Club on Oct. 29-30.
- Jaime Jacob and Bergen Benedict went 1-2 to lead the Cougars to victory.
- Jacob carded six birdies and no bogeys to turn in a career-best and program record 9-under 135.
- Benedict posted an even par 72 in the final round after turning in a career-low 69 in the opening round to finish 3-under 141.
- Jacob ended the fall season with back-to-back CCAA Golfer of the Week honors (Oct. 17-23, Oct. 24-30).
PLNU SEA LIONS INVITE
- The Cougars are the defending champs, defeating California Baptist by three strokes with a 24-over 600 on Feb. 6, 2018.
- Jacob shared the individual title with Dixie State's Katie Ford after both finished with a 2-over 146.
- The tournament was previously named the PLNU Reach.
THE HUTTON FILE
- Head coach Greg Hutton has been at the helm of the men's program since the 2010-11 season and was named the women's head coach in 2014.
- Under Hutton's leadership, the women's team won CSUSM's first CCAA Championship in school history in 2018.
- Both teams qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships last season.
