SAN MARCOS, Calif. – In its next-to-last game of the regular season, the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team defeated Cal State East Bay by a score of 61-48 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Thursday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the end of 10 minutes, CSUSM held a narrow 11-8 lead over CSUEB as Forrester led the Cougars with three points.
- Six of the Cougars' first-quarter points came off turnovers.
- CSUSM had a 25-21 lead over CSUEB at the halftime break as Dynnah Buckner led all scorers with seven points.
- All eight Cougars that checked into the game during the first half tallied at least one basket.
- CSUEB narrowed the game to two points at 37-35 with 9:19 remaining in the game, but it was as close they would come to CSUSM's lead as the Cougars soon went on a 7-0 run.
- CSUSM took its first double-digit lead at 51-41 as Custodio sank a free throw with 1:36 to go.
- The Cougars' largest lead of the game was 14 points (59-45) with 34 seconds remaining in the game.

- CSUSM improves to 16-9 (13-8 CCAA) while Cal State East Bay drops to 13-14 (10-11 CCAA).
- The Cougars shot 38.3 percent (23-of-60) while holding the Pioneers to 32.7 percent (18-of-55) – the second-lowest percentage by a CSUSM opponent this season.
- CSUEB's 48 points were the fewest allowed by CSUSM.
- CSUEB's Elayshia Woolridge led the contest with 19 points while Savannah McGill posted a game-high 18 rebounds.
