SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team stunned CCAA leader Cal State East Bay with a 63-59 victory on Thursday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars and Pioneers traded the lead seven times in the first half and were tied four times.
- Both teams' largest lead in the first half was four points.
- Elliott and Fuller led the first period with nine points each while Fuller had a game-high six rebounds.
- CSUSM took its largest lead of the game in the second half as it went up 56-48 with 6:05 remaining.
- The Pioneers brought the Cougars' lead down to two points at 61-59 with 44 seconds left on a layup by Nai Carlisle as part of an 11-5 run.
- With one second remaining, Sloan drained both of his free throws to put the Cougars back up by four at 63-59.
- CSUEB called a timeout with 0.6 seconds on the clock, but the Pioneers ran out of time as the Cougars came away with the victory.

FAST BREAKS
- CSUSM improved to 8-19 (5-16 CCAA) while CSUEB moved to 21-6 (16-5 CCAA) and into a three-way tie with Cal Poly Pomona and UC San Diego.
- The Cougars are now 7-1 in the all-time series against the Pioneers and still undefeated at 4-0 when playing in San Marcos.
- Fuller notched his team-leading seventh double-double of the season.
- The Cougars shot 39.7 percent (23-of-58) while holding the Pioneers to 35.5 percent (22-of-62).
- CSUSM had the upper hand in rebounds (39-36), assists (8-5) and steals (8-4).
