Records Fall in CSUSM's 75-62 Victory at SF State

SAN FRANCISCO – A record night lifted the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team to a 75-62 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) victory at San Francisco State on Thursday night at The Swamp.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hackson posted 15 of her 26 points in the opening quarter to put CSUSM up 24-13.
  • CSUSM took a 35-28 lead into the halftime break after going 7-of-14 from behind the 3-point line.
  • The Cougars led 93.7 percent of the game, trailing only in the first three minutes of the contest.
  • CSUSM shot 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from the field including a 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from the 3-point line in the second half.
 
FAST BREAKS
  • With the win, the Cougars (13-9, 11-8 CCAA) remain in the fourth spot in the CCAA standings
  • SF State falls to 9-15 overall and 8-11 in CCAA action.
  • Hackson matched her career-high of 26 points that she set against Stanislaus State (Feb. 2).
  • Forrester's 14 points were a career-best with 12 coming from behind the arc.
  • Four Cougars reached double-digits in scoring.
  • Hackson set a program record with her eight 3-pointers as CSUSM also set a team record with 12 3-pointers in the game.  
  • Another program record that was broken was the single-game assist record as Custodio dished out 11 assists.
  • The Cougars shot a season-best 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.
  • CSUSM dropped a 53-49 decision to the Gators on Dec. 8 at The Sports Center. 
  • Jhaina Stephens led SF State with 18 points and seven rebounds. 
 
UP NEXT
The Cougars will play their final regular-season road game on Saturday at Sonoma State with tipoff slated for 5:30 p.m.
