SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team recorded a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series sweep with the Cougars' 58-49 victory over Cal State L.A. on Thursday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM shot 50 percent from the field in the first 10 minutes, taking a 15-12 lead into the second quarter.
- The Cougars relinquished only eight points in the second quarter to CSULA to take a 33-20 lead into halftime.
- The Golden Eagles shot just 29.0 percent (9-of-31) from the field in the first half yet outrebounded CSUSM 22-18, including 11 offensive boards. Â
- The Cougars maintained their lead throughout the complete second half as their entire bench saw court time.

FAST BREAKS
- With the win, CSUSM (12-9, 9-8 CCAA) moves into a tie with Chico State for fourth place in the CCAA standings. The Golden Eagles fall to 8-14, 5-13 in conference action.
- In the last meeting between these two teams, CSUSM won in triple overtime with an 89-87 win at CSULA Gymnasium.
- CSUSM tallied a season-best 12 steals and five blocked shots in the contest while dishing out 14 assists.
- CSULA won the battle of the boards, finishing with 48 to CSUSM's 38.
