COURSE REPORT:Â The No. 16 Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team made school history as senior
Joshua Litwiller was crowned NCAA Division II West Regional champion and led the Cougars to a third-place finish. The squad claimed the final automatic bid to the NCAA National Championships held in Sacramento on Saturday, Nov. 23.Â

FINISH LINE
- Litwiller was the first to cross the finish line, finishing two seconds ahead of Chico State's Trad Berti, in a personal-best time of 29:54.3. He is CSUSM's first NCAA Division II West Regional champion.
- Shea Vavra collected a personal-best time of 30:31.4 as he secured the 16th slot out of 185 runners.
- Kevin Lehr (27th) and Kibrom Elias (33rd) were the next Cougars to finish, recording times of 30:48.1 and 30:56.0, respectively.
- Phillip Dorado finished the 10k course with a personal-best time of 31:08.3 and placed 44th, improving from last year's regional showing of 72nd place.Â
- Robert Marin (46th) and Trevor Boaz (145th) clocked times of 31:12.7 and 33:16.1, respectively.Â
- Joining CSUSM with an automatic bid to the National Championship are fellow CCAA members, first-place Chico State and runner-up Cal Poly Pomona.Â

WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars will be heading to Sacramento on Saturday, Nov. 23 to compete in the NCAA National Championships. This will be the first time in school history that the men's team will be competing for an NCAA Championships.Â
