SAN MARCOS, Calif. – A 20-8 fourth-quarter run propelled the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team to a 67-62 victory over Simon Fraser on Friday afternoon in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the first 10 minutes of play, the Cougars held a 19-15 lead after shooting 55.6% from the field.
- CSUSM trailed 35-33 at the half as the Clan went 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the field in the second quarter.
- SFU took its largest lead of the game at the 1:36 mark of the third quarter on a pair of free throws by Clauda Hart to make it 51-43.
- The Clan outscored CSUSM 19-14 in the third quarter to take a 56-49 lead into the final 10 minutes of play.
- A 3-point play by Buckner cut the gap to 56-54 with 7:50 remaining on the clock.
- The Cougars held the Clan scoreless for just over four minutes to even the game at 56-56 on a Vermillion layup.
- Three consecutive 3-pointers by Forrester gave CSUSM a 65-60 lead with 2:02 on the clock.
- A layup by Forel with a pass from Custodio extended the Cougars' lead to 67-62 with 26 seconds remaining.

- The Cougars open the season at 1-0 while SFU drops to 2-2.
