SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 76-64 win over Point Loma on Thursday night in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down early at 10-4, the Cougars rallied back with an 8-0 run to take the lead at 12-10 in the first seven minutes.
- An 18-0 run capped by a pair of free throws by Stephanie Custodio gave CSUSM a 38-20 lead with less than a minute remaining in the second quarter.
- CSUSM took a 38-25 lead into the break after shooting 53.3% from the field in the opening 20 minutes.
- PLNU cut its deficit to 51-41 with a 3-pointer by Alix Henderson as time expired in the third quarter.
- The Sea Lions went on a 14-2 run to make it a one-point ball game at 56-55 CSUSM with 6:16 remaining in the game.
- A 3-pointer by PLNU's Sydney Petersen gave the Sea Lions their first lead of the second half, but CSUSM quickly responded with a Forrester trey that put the Cougars back on top at 60-58.
- A Forrester 3-pointer gave CSUSM a 70-62 lead with 1:44 on the clock.
- CSUSM closed out the game with a 6-0 run to clinch the victory.
