SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team came from behind to defeat Chico State by a score of 67-61 and earned its first California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) victory of the season on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars trailed 38-29 to Chico State at halftime despite finishing with a higher field-goal percentage (37.9 – 36.8).
- CSUSM opened the second half with a 13-4 run to even the score at 42-42 on a pair of free throws by JR Williams.
- Elliott's layup at 11:51 gave the Cougars their first lead of the game at 46-45.
- Once the Cougars got on top, they went on a 10-2 run to take a 56-47 lead at the 6:32 mark.
- CSUSM took its largest lead of the game at 62-50 after a layup by Fuller with 2:09 remaining.

- The Cougars improve to 4-11 (1-8 CCAA) while Chico State drops to 4-5 (3-5 CCAA).
