Strong Second Half Pushes Warriors Past Cougars

TURLOCK, Calif. – A strong second-half performance by Stanislaus State pushed it past the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team by a score of 82-60 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action on Thursday night at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • CSUSM went to the locker room with a 40-33 lead over Stanislaus State – tied for its largest halftime lead of the season.
  • Soffer and Elliott each had a team-leading nine points after 20 minutes.
  • The Cougars were 7-of-13 (53.8%) from beyond the arc in the first half.
  • CSUSM owned a big rebounding margin in the first half at 20-9 as Fuller had eight of his own.
  • Williams tied his season high for assists with six in the first 20 minutes alone.
  • The second half was all Stanislaus State as the Warriors outscored the Cougars 49-20 in the final 20 minutes.
  • CSUSM committed a season-high 18 turnovers while Stanislaus State scored 20 points off turnovers.
  • The Warriors shot 58.6 percent (17-of-29) from the field in the second half while holding the Cougars to 21.9 percent (7-of-32).
