SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team fell 80-66 against Sonoma State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) contest on Thursday night in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• CSUSM got out to a 9-4 lead over SSU in the first five minute before the Seawolves 15-2 run in the next six minutes.
• The Cougars closed the gap to 24-20 on a Soffer layup at 5:38 in the first half.
• CSUSM trailed 42-21 at the half after shooting 29.6 percent from the field to SSU's 48.4 percent.
• The Seawolves kept their cushioned lead throughout the second half, never letting the Cougars within 12 points.
• CSUSM shot 45.2 percent in the second half, improving on its first-half performance of 29.7 percent.
• The Cougars outscored the Seawolves 45-38 in the second half.

• The Cougars fall to 3-11 (0-8 CCAA) while the Seawolves move up to 6-8 (4-5 CCAA).
• Sloan's 23 points were a season high.
