Cougars Unable to Keep Up with No. 13/20 UCSD

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team fell 92-69 at No. 13/20 UC San Diego in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Saturday night at RIMAC Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • CSUSM took a 46-28 halftime deficit to the locker room.
  • The Cougars shot 40 percent (12-of-30) from the field in the first 20 minutes while the Tritons shot 50 percent (17-of-34).
  • UCSD was 9-of-21 (42.9%) from beyond the arc in the first period.
  • Elliott led the Cougars with nine points in 18 minutes of action in the first half.
  • CSUSM's lone lead of the game came at 10-9 off a jumper from Elliott.
  • The Tritons made 10 3-point field goals in the second half and ended the game 19-of-40 (47.5%) from downtown.
