Marina McDonough in the top 10 to lead the Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team to its first race victory of 2018 at the Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Challenge on Saturday morning.
FINISH LINE
- For the first time in her career, Eberwein was CSUSM's top finisher with a fourth place finish in a time of 17:52.8.
- Flora was CSUSM's second finisher, posting a time of 17:56.1 to earn a sixth-place finish while McDonough crossed the line at 17:57.4 to take eighth place.
- Junior Alicia Villarreal took 20th (18:40.6) and sophomore Jax Heckers rounded out CSUSM scorers with a 30th-place finish.
- The next two runners for CSUSM to cross the line were Brianna Gutierrez (50th, 19:07.3) and Clarissa Garcia (79th, 19:39.1)

"Our top 5 women competed tough today. They did a good job packing up and battling UC San Diego the entire race. This was a big step forward from a week ago and there is still a lot of improvement to come. Lewis will the a perfect next challenge for our top 7."
