Cougars Come Up Shy in Exhibition at Cal State Northridge

LOS ANGELES – In a midweek exhibition, the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team fell 76-72 to Cal State Northridge on Wednesday night at The Matadome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Cougars went to the locker room with a 39-33 deficit to the Matadors after 20 minutes of play.
  • CSUSM tallied its largest lead of the game at 25-21 with 7:17 left in the first half after overcoming a 16-7 deficit to begin the game.
  • Fuller led the Cougars with 13 points and four rebounds in the first period.
  • CSUSM shot 37.9 percent (11-of-29) in the first half while the Matadors were 48.3 percent (11-of-29) from the field.
  • The Cougars had five blocks in the first half compared to the Matadors' two.
  • The Matadors took their largest lead of the game in the second half at 69-58 with 4:53 left to play.
  • CSUSM went on a 14-5 run in the final four minutes to cut the deficit to 74-72 with five seconds remaining.
  • The Matadors put the game away by making back-to-back free throws.
  • CSUSM outscored CSUN 39-37 in the second half after shooting 53.3 percent (16-of-30).
