IRVINE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team cruised to a 76-53 non-conference victory at Concordia Irvine on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• CSUSM jumped out to a 19-15 lead in the opening quarter.
• The Cougars shot 53.8 percent in the second quarter and matched its opening 19 points while holding the Eagles to only 12 points to take a 38-26 lead into the break.
• The Cougars went on a 15-0 run that began in the second quarter and concluded at 6:25 in the third quarter at 48-26.
• CSUSM's largest lead occurred in the fourth quarter at 70-40 with 5:48 remaining.

 
FAST BREAKS

• The Cougars improve to 2-1 overall while the Eagles (0-3) are still searching for their first win of the season.
• Four Cougars reached double-digits in scoring for the first time this season.
• CSUSM outscored CUI in all four quarters with the largest margin coming in the third at 21-12.
• The Cougars shot 48.3 percent (29-of-60) from the field while their defense held the Eagles to 34.0 percent (17-of-50).
• CSUSM outrebounded CUI 37-30 with 15 boards coming on the offensive end.
• Thirty-six of CSUSM's 76 points came inside the paint.
