SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track team returns to Northern Arizona for the Lumberjack Team Challenge on Friday night. The men's and women's basketball squads return to The Sports Center to host Stanislaus State on Saturday.

STANISLAUS STATE
- CSUSM is 0-4 all-time against the Warriors.
- The Cougars saw their 17-point lead get chipped away by the Warriors in the second half, before eventually falling 62-57 in overtime in Turlock. Senior Lupe Cruz tallied a team-best 10 points and 14 rebounds.
- The Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak with a 79-64 victory at home against Sonoma State on Jan. 10.
- Stan State ranks third in the CCAA in blocked shots at 4.18 per game, right behind the Cougars with a 4.36 per game average.
- Erika Larsen ranks third in the conference with a 1.7 blocked shots per game.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- The Cougars went 1-1 in CCAA play this past week.
- CSUSM took down Cal State Monterey Bay by a score of 57-49 for the Cougars' first road victory of the season. Senior Savannah Camp recorded 17 points and junior Juliet Jones added 11 points.
- Seniors Savannah Camp and Raegan Lillie are 1-2 on the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 and 9.4 points per game, respectively. Lillie leads the team in minutes played per game (29.6).
- CSUSM ranks first in the CCAA in 3-point field goal percentage defense (26.4) and defensive rebounds (30.9), second in blocked shots per game (4.36) and third in rebounding offense (41.9) per game.

STANISLAUS STATE
- The Cougars are unbeaten against the Warriors, holding a 4-0 all-time record.
- Earlier this season, CSUSM defeated Stan State in Turlock, 96-79. Junior Bear Henderson scored a season-high 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting including seven 3-pointers.
- The Warriors are coming off an 82-58 nonconference win over Holy Names and have posted a 2-3 record over their last five games.
- Stan State ranks in the top five in the CCAA in multiple categories including, third in defense field goal percentage (42.2), third in offensive rebounds (11.1), fourth in turnover margin (2.41) and fifth in scoring defense (69.1). Andy Cleaves leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- CSUSM went 2-0 last week on the road.
- After trailing by as many as 21 points, the Cougars came back to take down Cal State East Bay, 79-71, on Thursday in Turlock. Two days later, CSUSM faced a 12-point second-half deficit against Cal State Monterey Bay before Ethan Alvano would hit the game-winning 3-pointer with just .03 seconds left in regulation for an 84-81 win.
- The Cougars continue to lead the CCAA in many categories including, scoring offense (83.5), field goal percentage (48.6), 3-point field goal percentage (42.5) and defensive rebounds per game (27.1).
BEVO FRANCIS AWARD TOP 100 WATCH LIST
- Small College Basketball named Ethan Alvano to the prestigious list announced on Monday, Jan. 15.
- This list is compiled of the top 100 players who compete in the affiliations of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA and NCCAA.
- Alvano is the only player representing the CCAA and just one of two players from the entire West Region to be present on the list.
- Alvano leads the conference in scoring (21.8), assists (6.6), assist/turnover ratio (2.5), steals (2.8) and minutes (34.3). He also ranks 7th in the nation in total steals and steals per game while his 6.6 assists per game puts him 15th in the country. Alvano was named CCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 8-14. This is the third time he has received the honors this season.
