HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team saw its double-digit lead slowly chip away before falling to defending California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament Champion Cal State East Bay, 67-63, on Thursday night at Pioneer Gymnasium.
A 26-point fourth quarter by the Pioneers pushed the game into overtime and second-chance shots in overtime gave CSUEB the opportunity to clinch the win.
The Cougars drop to 3-6 in CCAA (3-10 overall) play while the Pioneers improve to 11-6 on the season, 7-4 in conference action.

After a slow start, the Cougars outscored the Pioneers 17-6 in the second quarter to take a 26-19 lead into halftime.
A Jones' 3-pointer gave CSUSM its largest lead of the night with 15 points (39-24) with 3:38 remaining in the third quarter.
CSUEB's Morgan Greene recorded a game-high 19 points and 24 rebounds. Elayshia Woolridge finished with 17 points.
The Cougars venture to Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, Jan. 13 to face off against the Otters. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m.
