SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The Cal State San Marcos softball team will put a cap on the 2017 home schedule, hosting Stanislaus State for a four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series. The Cougars will play a doubleheader on Friday, April 21 at 1 p.m. and then two more games on Saturday, Arpil 22 at 11 a.m. for Senior Day.

THE COUGARS AT A GLANCE
- CSUSM dropped three games to No. 5 Humboldt State by scores of 5-0, 11-4 and 10-2, the latter in five innings.
- Freshman pitcher Cheyenne Alvarez has the sixth best ERA in the CCAA at 2.01.
- Lindsay Cerulle is fifth in the conference in sacrifice hits with 10.
STANISLAUS STATE BREAKDOWN
- Stanislaus State is ninth in the CCAA standings with a 10-22 conference record. The Warriors are 20-27 overall.
- Stanislaus State hits .278 as a team. Alexus Martinez leads the way with a .376 batting average.
- The Warrior pitching staff boasts a 2.89 ERA. Stanislaus State ace Kylie Ragsdale has compiled an 11-9 record with a 2.62 ERA and 46 strikeouts this season.
- Head coach Jessica Ventoza is in her second season at the helm.
ARIZAGA NAMED CCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- Freshman infielder Gabriela Arizaga was named the CCAA Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 27 - March 5.
- She went 8-for-15 with five RBI, five runs, three doubles and a home run as the Cougars took three of four games from Cal State East Bay
- Arizaga went 2-for-4 with one run and two RBI as the Cougars won game two, 4-1.
- In game three, she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI and a home run as CSUSM defeated the Pioneers, 8-7, in nine innings.
COACH NEVAREZ
- Head coach Laurie Nevarez is in her fourth season at the helm of the Cougars in 2017.
- Hired in 2014, Nevarez put together an 83-61-1 (.576) record in her first three years.
- Over her 13-year, head-coaching career, Nevarez has put together a 402-177-2 (.694) overall record. Prior to her time at CSUSM, Nevarez coached NCAA Division III Redlands for 10 seasons.
THE CCAA
- Cal State San Marcos is a part of the 13-team California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), made up of 12 Cal State institutions and UC San Diego.
- The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II conferences in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference.
