SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team hosts its final home games of the 2016-17 season when the Cougars welcome Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay to The Sports Center on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

SENIOR NIGHT
- Prior to Saturday's tip-off, the Cougars will hold a short ceremony honoring CSUSM's three seniors.
- CSUSM's two seniors are Ashley Jenkins and Dee Armenta.
THE COUGARS AT A GLANCE
- CSUSM went 1-1 last week on the road.
- The Cougars fell at Stanislaus State, 67-60, last Thursday. The Warriors led by as many as 13 points in the final quarter but three consecutive 3-pointers by freshman guard Chloe Eackles cut the Stan State lead to 63-60 with 51 seconds on the clock.
- CSUSM's team defense held Chico State to one point in overtime to collect a 77-65 victory on Saturday night. Junior forward Savannah Camp tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
- The Cougars lead the CCAA in blocked shots, averaging 3.9 per game.
- Camp ranks No. 7 in the CCAA in scoring with a 13.8 average per game.
- Senior guard Ashley Jenkins is second in the conference with a 4.3 assist average.
- Junior forward Lupe Cruz leads the CCAA in blocked shots with 1.4 per game and junior forward Monica Friedl ranks fifth with a 0.9 average per game.
RUNDOWN OF CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY
- CSUSM is 2-2 against Cal State Monterey Bay in the all-time series.
- On Jan. 7, the Cougars defeated the Otters, 58-52, at the Otter Sports Center. Junior guard Reagan Lillie led all scorers with 18 points, going 8-of-14 from the field and 2-of-3 at the charity stripe.
- The Otters have won only three of their last 18 contests that included a CCAA series sweep against Humboldt State.
- CSUMB is sixth in the NCAA Division II in 3-piont field goal defense, limiting opponents to a 24.9 percentage.
- Senior guard Victoria Dorn ranks fifth in the NCAA Division II in 3-point field goals per game (3.33).
CAL STATE EAST BAY BREAKDOWN
- The Pioneers hold a 3-0 lead over the Cougars in the all-time series.
- CSUSM dropped a 59-44 decision in Hayward on Jan. 5. Rebounds proved to be costly for the Cougars as the Pioneers had the advantage at 52-35 with 20 coming on the offense.
- The Pioneers are second in the CCAA with a .414 field goal percentage
- Senior guard Shomari Harris is the CCAA top scorer, averaging 16.9 points per game. She also ranks third in the conference with 4.3 assists per game.
- Freshman forward Morgan Greene ranks second in the conference in rebounds with 9.2 per game.
THE CCAA CONFERENCE
- Cal State San Marcos is a part of the 13-team California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Conference, made up of 12 Cal State institutions and UC San Diego.
- The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II conferences in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference.
THE JIMENEZ FILE
- Head coach Renee Jimenez enters her second season in charge of the Cougar women's basketball team, a program that is only in its sixth season of existence.
- Jimenez has compiled a 132-89 in her eight seasons coaching in the CCAA, spending two seasons at Cal State San Bernardino after a five-year stint at Cal State Monterey Bay.
