SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team dropped an 81-63 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) decision to UC San Diego in the 5th Annual Homecoming Night, second in The Sports Center, on Saturday night.
The Cougars fall to 1-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference action. The Tritons improve to 6-2 overall, 2-0 in CCAA play.

UCSD took a 43-26 lead into the locker room after shooting 51.7 percent from the field in the first half.
CSUSM trailed by as many as 23 points (63-40) in the third quarter. The Cougars charged back to make it a 10-point difference on a layup by senior
Lupe Cruz, but a 10-2 run secured the win for the Tritons.
UCSD's Dalayna Sampton recorded a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds.
The Tritons out-rebounded CSUSM 39-31 including a 10-5 advantage on the offensive boards.
The Cougars begin a four-game road trip next week with their first stop at Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday, Dec. 9. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
