Cal State Dominguez Hills PreviewAll-time vs. CSUDH: 2-2
Last Meeting:
L, 2-5 (April 2, 2010). In their fourth meeting while competing as a NAIA team, CSUSM gave the Toros a scare in their bye weekend of CCAA action. CSUDH would later finish second in the conference standings and make it to the NCAA West Region semifinals.
CSUDH Breakdown: The Toros took 3-of-4 games from UC San Diego last weekend that included an 11-inning 9-8 victory at Triton Field. CSUDH opened CCAA play being swept in a three-game series at Sonoma State but quickly recovered with 2-1 series victory over San Francisco State.
Cougars' SkidThe Cougars have dropped seven consecutive games with three being decided by two runs or less. This skid matches the longest one in program history, taking place in 2007.

New Season, New SurroundingsThe Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition and California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play in 2016 after playing its first nine seasons in the NAIA. CSUSM made three postseason appearances during its time in the NAIA.

Dennis Pugh enters his tenth season at the helm of the Cougars in 2016. Pugh has accumulated a 254-143-2 on field record while grooming 29 all-conference selections. Prior to his time at CSUSM, Pugh spent 27 years as the head baseball coach at Mission Bay High School in Pacific Beach.
New TerritoryAfter nine seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015-16. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2016 and 2017.
