SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Five players finished in double digits as the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team cruised to a 104-69 victory over San Diego Christian on Tuesday night at The Sports Center.
 
The Cougars improve to 4-1 overall with their fourth win in a row. SDC falls to 2-3 on the season.
 
CSUSM shot over 50 percent from the field for the third time this season, finishing with a 59.4 clip compared to SDC's 37.9.

Tyson Kygar tallied a career-best 24 points and tied a CSUSM single game record, hitting seven 3-pointers with five coming in the first half. Junior 
Ethan Alvano added 15 points while dishing out seven assists. Senior 
Novian Cherry notched 13 points followed by junior 
Brian Wright's 12 points and senior 
Dayton Boddie's 11 points.

After a slow start, the Cougars took a 52-39 advantage into the halftime break. CSUSM shot 19-of-31 (61.3%) in the second half  while holding the Hawks to a 27.6 clip.
 
Hayden Fredirck led the Hawks with 21 points.
 
The Cougars begin California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Saturday, traveling to Arcata to take on the Lumberjacks of Humboldt State. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
