RUNDOWN OF HUMBOLDT STATE
- The Cougars are 1-2 overall against the Lumberjacks.
- In their last showdown, the Cougars came out victorious in Arcata with a 62-59 win on Feb. 25.
- The Jacks dropped back-to-back games in the West Region Challenge in Seattle last weekend, falling to Western Washington (91-49) and host Seattle Pacific (67-36).
- Junior guard Catharine Rees is averaging a team-best 12.5 points per game and shooting 9-of-17 (.529) from the field.
THE CCAA CONFERENCE
- Cal State San Marcos is a part of the 13-team California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Conference, made up of 12 Cal State institutions and UC San Diego.
- The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II conferences in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference.
THE JIMENEZ FILE
- Head coach Renee Jimenez enters her second season in charge of the Cougar women's basketball team, a program that is only in its sixth season of existence.
- Jimenez has compiled a 132-89 in her eight seasons coaching in the CCAA, spending two seasons at Cal State San Bernardino after a five-year stint at Cal State Monterey Bay.
