SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The No. 12 Cal State San Marcos softball team will get a preview of what it will be like to play in the NCAA Division II California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) when it hosts Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State Dominguez Hills this weekend.

Live Coverage of Home Games
Most home games of the 2014-15 season will be broadcasted with live video and play-by-play through Ustream.tv/channel/csusmsports. To find the link for the game, visit the Cougars' broadcast page or find the link on the team's schedule page. One can also follow the game with live stats on a brand-new interface. There will be no live video for: Feb. 27 vs. Vanguard and April 17 vs. Azusa Pacific. Live tweeting of all home games will be available through the team's twitter account, @CSUSMSoftball. Limited tweeting is available for road games.

Cal State San Bernardino Preview
The Cougars and Coyotes have gone over seven years without seeing other. The only previous games between the teams were in 2007 – the Cougars' first season as a program. CSUSB went 29-24 overall last year and were eliminated in the opening round of the CCAA conference tournament. CSUSB is currently under new leadership, as former Cal State Dominguez Hills head coach Jim Maier was appointed the Coyotes' new coach in the offseason. CSUSB has been picked to finish seventh in the CCAA in the preseason coaches' poll.

CSUSM all-time vs. CSUSM: 0-2

Last meeting: L, 0-3; L, 4-13 (Feb. 17, 2007); The two contests were just CSUSM"s eighth and ninth games as a program. CSUSM traveled to San Bernardino to play each game.

Cal State Dominguez Hills Preview
CSUSM and CSUDH have a little more of history, as the teams have played at total of four times. CSUDH was picked to finish eighth in the 2015 CCAA coaches' preseason poll, coming off a 17-35 season in Kim Aggabao's first year as head coach.

CSUSM all-time vs. CSUDH: 2-2

Last meeting: W, 6-5 (Feb. 2, 2014); CSUSM met the Toros in the semifinals of last year's Best of the West Invite in Turlock, Calif. It was the only game of the tournament decided by less than seven runs, as the Cougars swept the all-Division II competition. Down one in the seventh inning, Taylor Peters and Hayley Davis were able to score on a wild pitch to put the Cougars in the lead. Katie Wilkinson closed out the game for a save, forcing a double-play ball in the process.

Notes
Olivia Lucatuorto hit a grand slam in game two last weekend against La Sierra … Lucatuorto leads the Cougars with a .583 average … Melyssa Bellamy and Lucatuorto are tied for the team-lead with five hits apiece … CSUSM improved to 19-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles … Robyn Alvara was 3-for-3 in game one … Naomi Amu had three hits and three RBI on the day … Ashley Dagenais hurled a two-hit shutout in game two against LSU.

In The Ranks
CSUSM received 321 total points in the 2015 NAIA Softball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, coming in at No. 12. The Cougars have now been ranked for 53 consecutive polls dating back to Apr. 7, 2009.

Who We Are
CSUSM is an NAIA Division I institution which competes in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference. CSUSM was accepted into NCAA Division II Candidacy Year One and the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) during the summer and is currently going through a three-year transition phase in order to gain full NCAA DII status for the 2017-18 season. The 2014-15 season will be the school's final year competing in the NAIA.
