Cassie Damyanovich had a game-high 21 points and
Kimberly Kipp chipped in 11 points and six rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Cal State women's basketball team fell 71-58 to the 11th-ranked The Master's College on Wednesday night at Bross Gym.
CSUSM dropped to 9-13 while the Mustangs improved to 17-6 overall.
Damyanovich made 5-of-8 from beyond the arc and reached the 20-plus point mark for the fourth time this season. Senior
Alex Alvarado dished out a team-high six assists.
The Mustangs shot 58.1 percent to take a 44-25 lead into the halftime break. CSUSM outscored TMC 33-27 in the second half behind 50.0 field goal percentage. The Cougars ended the game on a 10-1 run.
CSUSM competes in the Northern New Mexico February Classic Feb. 13-15 in Espanola, N. M. The Cougars face South Dakota School of Mines & Technology on Friday, Johnson & Wales (Colo.) on Saturday and NNMU on Sunday. All three games are slated for 12 p.m. (PST)
