ESPANOLA, N. M. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team dropped a 74-58 contest to South Dakota School of Mines on the first day of the Northern New Mexico Classic Friday afternoon.
The Cougars drop to 9-14 overall while SD Mines improves to 10-12.

Cassie Damyanovich led the Cougars with 11 points and junior
Brianna Higgins chipped in nine points and five rebounds. Senior
Heather Thompson recorded eight points, five boards and three blocked shots.
The Cougars held a 33-31 lead at halftime. The Hardrockers shot 54.2 percent in the second half to push past CSUSM.
CSUSM faces Johnson & Wales at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.
