Last series: 3-0 (March 22-23, 2013). The Cougars capped a three-game series sweep over the Sea Lions with
Justin Hertzmann registering two saves in the Saturday doubleheader. After opening the series with a 3-1 victory, CSUSM squeaked out 8-7 and 5-4 wins.
PLNU Breakdown: Despite being picked to finish sixth in the PacWest Preseason Poll, the Sea Lions have started the season strong with 3-1 series wins over Western Oregon and Cal State San Bernardino. PLNU recorded a 9-8 victory over UC San Diego on Feb. 17 before snagging a doubleheader sweep against Bethesda (10-0, 2-1) on Feb. 21.
Corban (Ore.) PreviewAll-time record vs. Corban: First meeting
Corban Breakdown: The Warriors wrap up a nine-game Southern California trip with a nine-inning game against the Cougars on Sunday. Corban began the trip with a doubleheader sweep over La Sierra on Feb. 22, but has dropped three straight by 1-2 runs. The Warriors face Westmont Thursday before a doubleheader at Bethesda on Saturday. Senior LHP Austin Guzzon ranks 30th in the nation with 30 strikeouts in five starts.

Brandon Bentson also registered nine hits including two doubles and a triple while driving in eight runs and plating six times. The CSUSM pitching staff recorded a 2.31 ERA while holding their opponents to a .236 batting average.
Who We AreCSUSM is an NAIA Division I institution which competes in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference. CSUSM was accepted into NCAA Division II Candidacy Year One and the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) during the summer and is currently going through a three-year transition phase in order to gain full NCAA DII status for the 2017-18 season. The 2014-15 season will be the school's final year in the NAIA.
