The tournament features all NCAA Division II teams and contains a five-game round-robin format, with the winner being crowned based on total record, points and run differential. Five nationally-ranked schools in NCAA DII are attending the competition, including last year's NCAA DII runner-up, No. 3 Dixie State. Five teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) are in the field. Live stats will be available for all games; live video is available solely for games on field 1.
Last Year's DII TournamentLast season, the Cougars attended the Mizuno Best of the West Invite hosted by Cal State Stanislaus and shocked the competition. In a tournament featuring all NCAA DII teams, CSUSM went 5-0 and only had one victory with less than a seven-run differential. CSUSM capped the tournament with an 8-0 run-rule victory over Cal State Monterey Bay.
