SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos head athletic trainer Michelle Hamilton has announced the hiring of
Rachel Wilson as the new assistant athletic trainer for the Cougars.
Wilson comes to CSUSM after one season as the head athletic trainer at Rio Hondo Community College, where she was the lead for all 13 Roadrunner squads.
"I am looking forward to Rachel joining our sports medicine staff," Hamilton said. "She will fit in nicely with our team."
Prior to working at Rio Hondo, Wilson was a graduate assistant at Concordia-Irvine from 2012-14 while completing her Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration. She was the designated athletic trainer for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and softball. Wilson also assisted with the men's lacrosse and the men's and women's track & field teams.
Wilson continued working at CUI in the spring of 2015, serving as a part-time athletic trainer with the men's and women's tennis teams.
In addition, Wilson has worked with the West Coast Futbol Club and the Palm Springs Power Baseball team.
Wilson is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and a member of the NATA.
Wilson received her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from Long Beach State where she received the Outstanding Undergraduate Award from the Department of Kinesiology.
