OCEANSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team snagged a fourth consecutive win to begin 2015, upsetting No. 20 The Master's College 64-47 Saturday night at MiraCosta College.

Cassie Damyanovich led the Cougars with 16 points, making 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Senior
Mackenzie Harnett collected her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Junior
Brianna Higgins was one point shy of a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Cougars dominated the first half, taking a 30-14 lead at the break after holding the Mustangs to a 4-of-24 performance from the field.
TMC opened the second half on a 10-0 run with Nicole Nitake dropping the first eight points. CSUSM slowly rebuilt its lead, extending the gap to as large as 21 points on two free throws by sophomore
Crystal Hicks.
The Cougars recorded their lowest turnover total of the season at 11 while controlling the boards, 39-29."This was a huge win for us," Harris said. "We had a lot of players contribute in different areas and defensively we were locked in. We are going to enjoy this win tonight and then get ready for Biola tomorrow."
CSUSM travels to La Mirada on Wednesday, Jan. 7 to face Biola. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.
