CHANDLER, Ariz. - The No. 1 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team held Montana State-Nothern to just 26.1-percent shooting in an 88-46 victory on Friday evening at the Chandler-Gilbert Classic hosted by the University of Great Falls (Mont.).
MSU-Northern entered the game with a 41.9-percent clip from behind the arc, the NAIA's fifth-highest 3-point shooting percentage, but the Cougars held the Lights to just 5-of-24 (20.8%) from downtown.
Meanwhile, five Cougars finished in double figures, led by
Blake Nash's 21-point, five-assist performance.
Wade Collie pitched in with his first double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Akachi Okugo dished out six assists and
Declan Daly corralled 10 boards.
CSUSM has won four straight and improves to 14-1. MSU-Northern drops to 7-5.
The Cougars will conclude the tournament on Saturday at noon against host Great Falls.
