CHANDLER, Ariz. – Blake Nash's game-tying 3-point attempt was no good as time expired in the No. 1 Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team's 74-71 loss to Great Falls (Mont.) on Saturday afternoon at the Chandler-Gilbert Classic hosted by UGF.
The loss snaps a four-game win streak for the Cougars and serves as their first against a NAIA opponent this season. CSUSM drops to 14-2 overall while Great Falls improves to 9-3.
Taran Brown hit five 3-pointers for the second time in his last three games, leading the Cougars with a game-high 19 points.
Dayton Boddie and
Julian Camper finished with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
CSUSM shot a season-low 32.4-percent (23-of-71) from the floor.
The contest featured eight lead changes and four ties.
CSUSM will travel to the Simpson Christmas Classic on Dec. 29-30.
